Acupuncture is one of the oldest recorded, continuously practiced forms of medicine. Texts dating back over 2000 years describe the treatment of specific point on the body to encourage healing. Acupuncture theory is based on the flow of energy through the body and on the relationship between internal organs, skeletal/muscle systems and energetic pathways, known as meridians and acupuncture points.
I have been practicing Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine
since 1993. I received the advanced degree, Master of Acupuncture, in both Chinese and Japanese styles
in 2001. Over the course of my practice, I have acquired additional specialty training in areas such as pediatrics, substance abuse, sports medicine, geriatrics, fertility and psycho-spiritual (mental/emotional) ailments.
I use a combination of
four aspects of healing to promote health. I work specifically to treat the presenting problem and also to address any underlying imbalances affecting your overall wellness. My approach is gentle and I am supportive of treatments you may be receiving from other healthcare providers. Patients most often experience their acupuncture sessions as relaxing.

Physical: the base level; being in the world without it physically wearing us down or overwhelming our immune system.
Emotional: a balance of feelings, ability to tolerate a wide range of emotions.
Mental: a clear mind, good thoughts, reasonable decision making, a healthy attitude.
Spiritual: a connection with something larger than oneself, beyond the personality, ego and material world. |
|

Acupuncture: needle insertion, electrical Acupuncture, magnet therapy, heat application and other techniques to gather, disperse or strengthen the body’s energy.
Herbal Medicine: topical application of liniments or plasters, ingestion of teas, pills or herbal extracts.
Massage: gentle manipulation of muscles and connective tissues.
Energy Healing (Qi Gong): subtle energy techniques to facilitate healing on emotional and spiritual levels.

These methods can be used alone or in combination to promote balance and healing. They are very effective for a wide variety of health concerns, including allergies, headaches, pain management, arthritis, digestive disorders and general health and well-being.
My office is conveniently located in Cushing Square, Belmont with ample parking. I have two private treatment rooms as well as separate waiting and consultation areas. At the end of your first appointment, I will offer a treatment plan based on your specific needs and my experience. This includes the number of treatments that I feel your condition will require, along with any recommendations for herbal medicine. |
